A recent survey by Apartments.com revealed that fourteen percent of pet owners say that a community’s pet policy is the first thing they consider when visiting and selecting an apartment. “I love having a pet in my apartment because it feels more like home. APPMA; American Pet Products Manufactures Association reports that according to the 2007-2008 National Pet Owners Survey, 63% of U.S. households own a pet, which equates to 71.1 million homes. The survey goes on to say, in 1988, the first year the survey was conducted, 56% of U.S. households owned a pet as compared to 63% in 2006.
